Crassocephalum Crepidioides

Crassocephalum crepidioides (ebolo in Yoruba Language) belongs in the family Asteraceae. The stem is erect, round and hairy. Leaves are alternate, deeply-lobed and oval-shaped with toothed margins. The inflorescence is a capitulum consisting of orange disc florets. This plant is characterised by a cluster of heads at the apex of the stem. The seed is an achene with hairs (pappus) on top. It is a special pot vegetable among the Yorubas distinguished by its fragrance about which the Yoruba weighty wisecrack “No treatment can remove the fragrance of ebolo which is from its source, the wild” was coined!

Jimmy Odukoya Appointed as Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, Son of Late Pastor Bimbo and Taiwo Odukoya has been appointed as the new senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Lagos, Nigeria. The official announcement of his appointment was made during the Sunday service held at the church’s headquarters in Lagos on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Pastor Rotimi Okpaise revealed that Founder of Fountain of Life Church, Taiwo Odukoya, who passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 in the United States at the age of 67 had already shared his succession plans with the Board of Trustees before his passing. The Board, in unanimous agreement, elected Jimmy as the new senior pastor and also bestowed upon him the role of board chairperson.

Pastor Jimmy is poised to lead the congregation well. May God be with him and the Church.
