Jimmy Odukoya Appointed as Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, Son of Late Pastor Bimbo and Taiwo Odukoya has been appointed as the new senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Lagos, Nigeria. The official announcement of his appointment was made during the Sunday service held at the church’s headquarters in Lagos on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Pastor Rotimi Okpaise revealed that Founder of Fountain of Life Church, Taiwo Odukoya, who passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 in the United States at the age of 67 had already shared his succession plans with the Board of Trustees before his passing. The Board, in unanimous agreement, elected Jimmy as the new senior pastor and also bestowed upon him the role of board chairperson.

Pastor Jimmy is poised to lead the congregation well. May God be with him and the Church.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) the city of David parish, has launched an online Christian dating platform for mature Singles. The name of the RCCG Dating site is www.connectnow.com.ng.

The parish pastor of RCCG(city of David), Idowu Iluyomade, revealed this at a forum, stating that the platform will enable singles to interact and find their life partner. Ghanaian Pastor bathed his female church members inside a basin to make them holy and pure for the new year. The crossover ritual was live streamed for people to see and performed for his female church members.

The Pastor was seen asking his church members to hurry up and come for the “holy bath”. The female church members were stripped naked and seen tying towels while being rubbed olive oil by another Pastor after the bath.

Rev. Ernest Angley,  an American Christian evangelist, author, and television station owner, passed away on May 7, 2021 at the age of 99, according to an announcement shared through his ministry on twitter:

"Pastor, evangelist, and author Rev. Ernest Angley has gone to Heaven to be with His Lord and Master at 99," read a statement on the website of Ernest Angley Ministries. "He touched multitudes of souls worldwide with the pure Word of God confirmed with signs, wonders, miracles, and healings. He truly pleased God in all things."

Emmanuel TV's Channel YouTube account has been suspended over some videos shared on the channel. This channel is owned by  T.B. Joshua Ministries.

Premium Times had reported that between 2016 and January 2020, the channel posted at least seven clips showing the charismatic Christian televangelist engaging in violent exorcism to ‘cure’ gay and lesbian congregants of their sexual orientation by casting out “the demon of homosexuality”.

The law allows the regulation of religious bodies and charity organizations by the registrar-general of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and a minister, and also gives the commission power to suspend the trustees of an association or a religious body and appoint an interim manager or managers to coordinate its affairs.

Catholic Church Cannot Bless Same-Sex unions - Vatican

 

The Vatican on Monday, March 15, 2021 stated that priests and other Catholic Church ministers cannot bless same-sex unions and that such blessings are "not licit" if carried out.

The Vatican's doctrinal office, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), issued the ruling in response to questions and moves in some parishes to impart such blessings as a sign of welcome to gay Catholics since the Church does not permit homosexual marriage.

A Lagos State High Court on Wednesday, 18th Novemeber, 2020 sentenced popular prophet and Shepherd-in-charge of Celestial Church of Christ Global Genesis Parish, Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe, to two years imprisonment for defrauding a United States-based woman.

Trial judge, Justice Olabisi Akinlade, sentenced Oladele to a two-year jail term after she found him guilty on two of the seven charges brought against him.

London Church Holds Memorial Service for Stray Cat Who Lived in the Cathedral for Twelve Years

 

Doorkins, whose age was unknown, first came to the cathedral seeking food in 2008.

London's famous Southwark Cathedral which is traditionally recognized for its architectural significance,  held a memorial service for its celebrity cat named Doorkins Magnificat that recently died, 12 years after strolling into the church premises as a stray cat.

During her twelve year stay in Southwark Cathedral, the cat reached celebrity status: meeting the Queen, starring in a children’s book and having her own social media accounts.
