In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. The earth was void and formless; darkness was over the surface of the deep. God said ‘let there be light’ and there was light, he saw the light was good and separated the light from the darkness. God called the light ‘Day’ and the darkness he called ‘Night’. God made the firmament and divided the waters under the firmament from the water above it. He called the firmament ‘Heaven’ – Genesis 1:1-8.
Heaven is the home of God, angels and destination of the saints.
- The Home of God
Heaven is God’s throne and the earth is his footstool (Matt 5:34-35, Isaiah 66:1). ‘Who is this God?’ This was the question of an unbeliever at an evangelism outreach. God is our father in heaven (Matt 5:48, Matt 6:9), he created the heaven, the earth and all things in them (Gen 1:1). God is our refuge and strength (psalm 46:1), he is good, merciful, loving, kind and just (psalm 100:5). God is a spirit (John 4:24) and no man have seen God at anytime (John 1:18). God is true (John 3:33) and he sees all (Prov. 15:3)
- The Home of the Angels
The angels are agents sent to the living creatures on earth to deliver the message of God. In the book of revelation, seven angels were sent to seven churches saying ‘Repent and forsake your sins, keep my commandments, endure patiently, hold on to what you have so that no one will take your crown.
- The Destination of the Saints
Are you a saint? If your answer is yes. Be prepared to enter the heavenly mansions. If you answer is NO or you are not sure, these are the steps you must follow
Acknowledge your sins (Romans 3:23)
Believe in your heart that Jesus died for you (Romans 10:9))
Repent, confess and forsake your sins for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Let’s pray
Heavenly father, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that you died for my sins, I believed you are raised from the dead for my justification; I receive Jesus Christ today as my personal lord and savior. Thank you Jesus. I am saved by grace. Amen
Remember to serve God with your heart (Romans 14:18, Col. 3:23)
Evan. Topmost
