About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. Paul and Silas prayed until something happened. (Acts 16: 25-26)
Prayer is our direct line with heaven. It is a communication process that allows us to talk to God! He wants us to communicate with Him, like a person-to-person phone call. To many people, prayer seems complicated, but it is simply talking to your best friend! It’s easy to talk to someone when you know they love you unconditionally!
Prayer is the key to the heart of God. It is the only way to a real and personal relationship with God. A lot talk prayer but don't pray, this is not good as Christians.
Let's pray
Let's pray
- Pray with Faith (Heb. 11:6)
- Pray acknowledging He is God, and that you accept His gracious gift, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior (Genesis 17:1, Romans 6:16-18).
- Pray to worship Him (Psalm 95:6-7)
- Pray with thanksgiving for all the ways He blesses us (Philippians 4:6)
- Pray confessing our sins and accepting His forgiveness (Romans 3:23-26)
- Pray that God's will be done in our lives, that Holy Spirit guides us, and that we be filled with the fullness of all God has for us.
- Pray for (spiritual) understanding and wisdom (Proverbs 2:6-8, Proverbs 3:5).
- Pray when you are ill, lonely, going through trials or interceding for others (James 5:14-16, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
There is nothing we can’t pray about. There are abundant references to prayer in the Bible. The Bible tells us to “pray without ceasing” and “in everything give thanks to the Lord.” Above all, pray without ceasing every day of your life. Pray with sincerity, honor, and humbleness before the Almighty God. “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results” (James 5:16).
Happy New Month!
