Another Nigerian, Reverend Woyin Karowie, has made history as the first black bishop in the Church of England since John Sentamu was consecrated in 1996.
The former doctor turned Priest, was today consecrated as Bishop of Woolwich/Diocese of Southwark London. The consecration of Bishop Woyin born in June 1958, came after it was announced in December 2016, that he would be the next Bishop of Woolwich,a suffragan Bishop in the Diocese.
