Gospel recording artist Tasha Cobbs Leonard has released a new music project titled "Heart. Passion. Pursuit."
And the immediate buzz surrounding the Grammy Award-winner's fourth album is her collaboration with rapper Nicki Minaj. That new single is called "I'm Getting Ready."
Some of Tasha's fans and Christian leaders have criticized her decision to feature Minaj on the album.
Cobbs stands by her decision, noting that she has seen Minaj off stage and "Nicki has a great relationship with God."
She told Essence Magazine, "My assignment with this song was for a particular audience. Some have never experienced God ever and she exposed that audience in her way, to the God that she loves."
Cobbs says she has already heard from people with personal testimonies of feeling God for the first after hearing the song.
"This is not an assignment that man gave to me. This is an assignment that God gave to me, and He prepared the way for me, as only God could," Cobbs shared.

What do you think? Is this right?
Well, I can understand using Nicki to reach her audience but I don't know about her being a believer. God knows the heart, yes, but we are expected to bear fruit unto righteousness and be separated from the world. Nice story though, Temitope.
ReplyDeleteHi sis,
DeleteThis would have been a great worship song without Nicki's collaboration. Since Tasha disclosed it is an assignment that God gave to her, God knows the heart
Thanks for stopping by sis!
